After you have submitted the application information above, the second step is to upload your writing sample file to our grant folder.
Before you submit, prepare your file:
1.) 1-page statement of some facet of your life experience as a Muslim woman in America.
2.) A writing sample of no more than 10 pages. It can be a mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or hybrid; or it can be a sample from a single longer work, or any combination thereof. This is an application, not a submission, so don’t worry about whether work is previously published, simultaneously submitted, etc. Previous publications don’t matter and don’t need to be acknowledged, and this is not an outlet from which you need to withdraw your work if it gets accepted elsewhere.
PUT THESE BOTH IN ONE DOCUMENT, and submit the single file as DOC, DOCX, RTF, PDF, or ODT.
Name the file: UG2017FirstNameLastName (Example: UG2017JaneSmith.docx).
Do not put your name anywhere else within the file.
