*Our website is under major construction for the next month or so. If there is something you cannot find or that looks outdated, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at alt.current at gmail for answers to your questions. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we have a small team, and maintenance is a necessary burden.*

The Coil is the publicity and book-selection wing of Alternating Current. We are proud to support the world’s most fantastic books, and we welcome all authors, presses, publicists, agents, and rooting fan clubs to submit their books for consideration.

This is a publicity program for ALREADY-PUBLISHED BOOKS only, or galleys slated for publication within the next six months (If you are inquiring about submission of a manuscript for publication on Alternating Current Press, please visit our press page and submissions page. If you are seeking promotional services that are not exclusive to Coil Book Selections, visit our publicity services page.). We send each book submission through a selection process that consists of being read and discussed by an external reading panel, and if the book passes, then we provide publicity for the book through our partners and through other outlets AT NO ADDITIONAL COST, alongside provided discounts for other promotional services that are exclusive only to the books we select. Interested in finding out more? Click below.

It is important to note that we represent great books, not necessarily great authors. While those two oftentimes go hand in hand (and we LOVE our authors!), they are not synonymous. That’s why each book must go through our review process, and whether or not an author has been selected or declined in the past has no bearing on the next book submitted.

ANYONE MAY SUBMIT A BOOK. We strongly urge presses and agents to submit their entire catalogs for extra publicity. There are three parts to the application, and you can submit them in several different ways, whichever is most convenient for you: a digital file of your book, an application form, and a $29.99 entry fee PER BOOK, not per author. For the easiest method, you can submit the form, fee, and file all together via our Submittable page. If you’d prefer to pay via PayPal, credit/debit card, or e-check, you can pay through PayPal here, then submit your form and file online here. If you’d prefer to pay via cash, check, or money order, you can submit your form and file online here, then send your payment MADE OUT TO ANGSTMAN ARTS, to Alternating Current, PO Box 183, Palo Alto, CA 94302; make sure your author name is somewhere on your envelope, check, or money order, so we can pair them up in-house.
